This Dataset contains supplementary data related to a manuscript submitted to the international journal Construction and Building Materials (ISSN: 0950-0618) in July 25th, 2018, entitled "Photogrammetry for digital reconstruction of railway ballast particles - a cost-efficient method", by André Paixão, Ricardo Resende and Eduardo Fortunato. The data comprises two .zip files containing two sets of digital 3D .ply models of 18 reconstructed railway ballast particles obtained using laser scanning (Creaform EXAscan) or photogrammetry by approach proposed by the authors in the manuscript.
