Soundscape ratings and sound levels across 128 park survey grids

Description

This dataset pairs soundscape perception with measured sound levels across Beiling Park, Shenyang, China, surveyed on one stable-weather autumn 2017 weekend day. Eight trained assessors working in pairs rated 128 soundwalk grid cells on acoustic comfort, attraction, appropriateness and the salience of traffic, commercial, natural, recreational and tourist-activity sound, each on a five-point scale from -2 to +2; sixteen surveyors measured 205 sound-level points over 30 s samples. The workbook deposits the assessor-level ratings in full alongside the grid means, the measured sound-level points, and an analysis-ready grid table carrying interpolated sound levels, grid geometry and distances to the park boundary, road network, scenic anchors and gates. One interpolation branch is primary throughout, following a prospectively recorded upgrade rule, with the alternative kept beside it as a sensitivity column only. A numbering crosswalk documents how the original 1-129 survey numbering, which skips 106, maps onto the 1-128 analysis table, and records the one grid whose stored coordinate was corrected. The exact questionnaire item wording was not retained by the survey team and is not reconstructed. The assessors were investigators applying a rating protocol, so the dataset contains no personal data. Released under CC BY 4.0; please cite the associated article when available.
