This data was collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews with parents that were selected bases on maximum variation sampling technique to gain greater insights into a phenomenon by looking at it from all possible angles (Cohen et al., 2011). In total I recruited 24 parents (14 female and 10 male participants) for interview based on the following criteria: region, type of school, grade, gender, and educational attainment. These parents were from three mainstream schools and three trilingual schools located in three regions of Kazakhstan: North, South and Centre.
