Description

X Central-American and VIII Caribbean Chemistry Olympiad was held in Havana on July 17-23, 2016. Talented high school students from Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador and Cuba demonstrated their practical and theoretical knowledge of chemistry by solving two challenging exams. This event is an annual celebration in which delegations made up of two mentors and four students share their experiences. The theoretical exam occurred at a polytechnic institute, and the practical exam was at the University of Havana. There were tasks about the main traditional branches of chemistry: Organic, Inorganic, Analytical and Physical. This contribution contains the questions and answers proposed by the Scientific Committee in their original Spanish version and English translations, as well as the competitor's results..
