In order to achieve the research goals, verbal (in the form of instructions) stimulation of speakers to generate written statements was used, which were then subject to statistical processing and semantic interpretation. The instruction to the subjects was to answer the following questions in writing in an arbitrary form: ‘What, in your opinion, is the ‘best (most perfect) performance of the professional activity of a university teacher? The empirical study involved 367 research and teaching staff of higher education institutions in Kyiv, including 100 people in the social sciences and humanities, and 267 in the sciences and mathematics. The study was conducted by the method of direct, written survey of academic staff in the conditions of their advanced training at the University of Education Management (Kyiv).
