Description

The dataset contains the responses of 603 Czech teachers about the importance and use of school world atlases in their geography classes. The dataset is an export from JotForm. All the responses are in the Czech language + machine translation using Google Translator. Alternatively, the data can be interactively inspected using Fluorish. Most of the teachers who completed the questionnaire worked at primary schools (487 teachers). A total of 116 respondents taught in secondary schools and grammar schools. The total number of all Czech geography teachers is not available. Based on the number of schools in the Czech Republic, the authors estimated that the questionnaire was filled in by approximately 15% of geography teachers in the Czech Republic. The questionnaire survey contained a total of 30 questions focused on four main areas. Three areas are associated with the proposed research questions: which atlases are used in teaching and their importance; the types of task students solve with them; other teaching aids the teachers use.
