This dataset comprises the SHAP values of hydro-geomorphological factors driving saltmarsh vegetation dynamics, alongside data on the ecological optima of the vegetation for these same factors. The SHAP values quantify the direction and magnitude of the hydrogeomorphic impacts, while the ecological optima identify critical environmental thresholds. Together, these data provide a foundational basis for formulating science-based ecological management strategies.

Steps to reproduce

The data on the ecological optima of the vegetation for hydro-geomorphological factors were derived from the violin plots of the corresponding factors within the predicted saltmarsh vegetation distribution. The SHAP values for these factors, which quantify their influence on vegetation dynamics, were obtained through SHAP analysis, using the combined dataset of the hydro-geomorphological factors and the observed saltmarsh vegetation dynamics.
