Description

Oral microbiome is linked to health and disease. Many human diseases have been linked to dysbiosis. Oral rinse was collected from nine patients with cardiovascular diseases to study the abundance and diversity of bacteria by metagenomic analysis of 16s rRNA sequences. Ninety nine percent of the taxa belonged to the six major phyla,  Firmicutes,  Bacteroidetes,  Proteobacteria,  Actinobacteria,  Spirochaetes, and Fusobacteria. The microbiome of the patient samples did not significantly differ from the control.
