The data contained herein includes corrosion and fatigue performance of as-built, non-heat treated 316L stainless steel fabricated with laser wire directed energy deposition. This work investigates the influence of argon and nitrogen shielding gas on the pitting susceptibility and high-cycle fatigue behavior (via rotating beam fatigue testing).
