Description

The datasets and supplementary material presented in this companion document is a fundamental part of the paper "A Nonlinear Multi-Period Hydrothermal Optimal Power Flow Model for Hydropower Systems'' . In this companion document, we start with the data of classical IEEE test systems, whose generation matrices are composed basically by thermal generation units, and propose a systematic alteration of such generation matrices so as to represent fictitious hydropower systems, where hydro generation comprises the vast majority of the system capacity. Despite the fact that the adapted systems, whose data are described here, are artificially constructed, these systems are based on real hydro data for generation subsystems of the Brazilian hydropower system. Also, the data used for the transmission system are taken from realistic IEEE systems, which involve the IEEE 24- 118- and 300-bus systems. Therefore, the main task here is to adapt these original IEEE systems so as to replace thermal units by hydroelectric units, but keeping the hydraulic and network characteristics of the original systems. The complete information involving all tables shown in this document are also provided as supplementary material, given by appended Excel archives.
