This repository was created for sharing the code and data used in a publication called "Road Reference Profiles based on Optimization Routines for Connected and Automated Vehicles". The data and mathematical development of the code is found in the paper. Three main files are provided within this repository: (1) Visual Aids for understanding of the research and methodology presented (2) Source Code for Reference and Investigation as per Licensed rules (3) Source Data for the results presented in the publication

Steps to reproduce

Code was produced in MATLAB. Ideal datasets were mathematically created, GPS datasets were recorded with an VC4000 Data Recording Unit, Google Earth Data was selected manually from Google Earth Pro software. Curvature profiles are obtained through a previous research effort (reference below). Subsequent optimization routines are developed from standard optimization literature such as Numerical Optimization (Springer Series in Operations Research and Financial Engineering).
