Description

This document presents the event-history of the local BRTIS evolution, analyzed through the lens of realization of the eight TIS functions across various geographical scales. Column A outlines the four developmental periods of the local BRTIS: emergence, shaping, expansion, and diversification. Additionally, the dataset covers a 'Structuration period with no technological innovations' (1930s - 1970s). Events within this period are listed for informative purposes but are not included in the analysis. The technological development of the local BRTIS commences in 1983 (marking the beginning of the Emergence stage), coinciding with the first event related to the technological advancement of the local BRTIS. Column B details the significant events, actors, and developments that occurred in different developmental periods of the local BRTIS. Column C specifies the respective year of each event. Column D provides descriptions for each event/process (n=238, excluding events from the structuration period). Columns E to L represent the eight TIS functions: Entrepreneurial activities, Knowledge development, Knowledge diffusion, Guidance of search, Market formation, Resource mobilization, Creation of legitimacy, and Materialization. Columns M to Q indicate the geographical scale where each event took place: local, regional, national, EU, and global. The cause-effect analysis of the eight TIS functions is depicted through arrows in Columns E to L. If two functions are connected by an arrow, it signifies that the first function led to the realization of the second function.
