Description

The supplementary information supports and provides the reader with the necessary resources to reproduce the examples presented in the article “Freeform optics design method for illumination and laser beam shaping enabled by least squares and surface optimization”. The repository contains the mapping matrices mx, my calculated by following the method described in Section 2. In addition, subsets of these matrices, called ZM1, ZM2 and their corresponding entrance pupil coordinate positions (Px, Py) are provided. They were used to build the merit function.

Steps to reproduce

1) Download all material included in the folders. 2) Read the "Supplementary info" file. 3) Create new subsets from M1, M2, or adapt the files ZM1, ZM2, Px, Py to create the merit functions. 4) Optimize the freeform surfaces.
