Description

The dataset represents the microstructural evolution of an AlGe alloy due to heat treatment. It shows morphology changes and reveals grain coarsening and formation of precipitations.

Steps to reproduce

All images are acquired with an SEM-based nano-CT called XRM-II nanoCT. Aluminum and Germanium are segmented using AVIZO. "Sample_0min" shows an overview scan of the investigated AlGe alloy with a voxel size of 260 nm. Based on this information an ROI is prepared by FIB. The prepared ROI is stepwise annealed at 375° C and the morphology changes are imaged by nano-CT. The four image stacks named "ROI" represent the microstructure after a specific annealing time. The object size is about 60 µm and the voxel size is 60 nm. Al is defined by the grey value 2 and Ge by the grey value 3 (air = 0).
