Steps to reproduce

A systematic literature search was conducted in the following electronic databases from January 2013 to April 2024: PubMed/MEDLINE, BVSalud, SciELO, and Embase. The search strategy was developed using controlled vocabulary (MeSH for PubMed, DeCS for BVSalud and SciELO, and Emtree for Embase) alongside free-text terms in the title and abstract fields. The core search concepts were 'autism spectrum disorder' and 'anesthesia'. The search strategy for PubMed is presented as follows: ("Autism Spectrum Disorder"[MeSH] OR autism[Title/Abstract] OR ASD[Title/Abstract]) AND ("Anesthesia"[MeSH] OR anesthesia[Title/Abstract] OR anaesthesia[Title/Abstract]) This strategy was adapted to the specific syntax and controlled vocabulary of each subsequent database. The search was filtered to include only Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) and Clinical Trials (CTs). No language restrictions were applied.
