Supplementary BSE-SEM Data for Tungsten Heavy-Alloy Microstructure Analysis
Description
This dataset contains the complete supplementary files for a multi-field BSE-SEM analysis of tungsten heavy-alloy microstructures, with emphasis on image-derived measurements of tungsten phase contiguity, connectivity, particle morphology, field-scale variation, and contact-graph descriptors. The archive includes the source SEM images, field-level quantitative outputs, summary CSV tables, diagnostic and publication figures, Python analysis scripts, LaTeX source files, and a compiled supplementary information PDF. The included scripts reproduce the reported image-analysis outputs, including field-level measurements, across-field comparisons, contact-graph summaries, and apparent 2D dihedral descriptor plots. The folder is organized as a self-contained supplementary LaTeX and analysis project. Individual `field_*` directories contain field-specific outputs and figures, while the `SEM` directory contains the source microscopy images. Summary files include field-level measurements, descriptive statistics, calibration and crop metadata, and graph/dihedral summaries. The LaTeX file `supplementary_information.tex` and compiled `supplementary_information.pdf` provide the accompanying supplementary document. These files are intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of the image-analysis workflow associated with the corresponding manuscript. The dataset reports image-frame descriptors only; specimen identifiers and physical sampling locations were not available in the supplied files, so field-to-field variation should not be interpreted as specimen-level replication.

Steps To Reproduce 1. Download and extract the complete dataset folder. 2. Open a terminal or command prompt in the root folder: cd supplementary_latex_project 3. Create and activate a Python environment. python -m venv .venv .\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1 4. Install the required Python packages. pip install -r requirements.txt 5. Reproduce the field-level SEM analysis outputs. python analyze_sem_fields.py --skip-sensitivity 6. Reproduce the contact-graph and apparent 2D dihedral summary table and figure. python build_graph_dihedral_summary.py 7. Reproduce the multi-field contact-graph composite figure. python build_contact_graph_composite.py 8. To rebuild the supplementary information PDF, compile the LaTeX source from the project root. latexmk -pdf -interaction=nonstopmode supplementary_information.tex The reproduced outputs include the field-level CSV files and figures, summary statistics, graph/dihedral comparison outputs, contact-graph composite image, and the supplementary information PDF. The analysis uses the source SEM images in the SEM folder and the calibration/crop metadata provided in field_manifest.csv.
