Description

This dataset compiles non-hemolytic and non-toxic antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) consistently identified within omics data extracted from Cephalopods' Posterior Salivary Glands (PSG). It consists of a non-redundant set of these AMPs, predicted across 13 non-hemolytic/non-toxic AMP datasets reported in (doi: 10.17632/ccp94tgcp2.1). These datasets were derived from agreed non-hemolytic/non-toxic predictions by several models, applied to AMP libraries resulting from the screening of enzymatically-digested proteins extracted from Cephalopods' PSG (doi: 10.17632/6fjsdnvygb.1). This dataset represents a valuable source of privileged AMPs for further exploration and drug discovery

Steps to reproduce

The creation of this dataset involved two key steps: 1. The initial peptide libraries, accessible via doi: 10.17632/ccp94tgcp2.1, were combined. 2. To eliminate sequence redundancy, CD-HIT was employed with a sequence identity threshold set at 0.98
