Steps to reproduce

Balance was assessed using the rotarod test. Mitochondrial DNA integrity, ATP content, and mitophagy-related genes and proteins were investigated by real-time PCR and western blot analysis. Quantification of mitophagosomes and mitophagolysosomes in the saccule, utricles, and crista ampullaris was performed using immunofluorescence imaging. Two mitophagy associated factors, Parkin and BNIP3, were investigated through immunohistochemical staining of the peripheral vestibular system.
