Description

Supporting data for a PhD dissertation developing a risk-based, stage-gated certification framework for additively manufactured (AM) aftermarket aerospace parts across the Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA), Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), and approved-repair pathways. The deposit covers three evidence strands: a systematic review of 248 coded sources (122 peer-reviewed publications, 78 consensus standards, 48 regulatory and guidance documents), cross-validated against 51 existing review papers and 42 FAA/EASA workshop presentations; an original stakeholder survey (n=40, collected 17 June 2025 to 12 May 2026); and a six-member expert review panel. Contents: S1 - Extraction table, 122 peer-reviewed publications, 52 fields S2 - Extraction table, 51 review papers, 39 fields S3 - Grey literature catalogue with full metadata S4 - Grey literature extraction: 48 regulatory documents (Sheet A), 78 consensus standards (Sheet B), 42 workshop presentations (Sheet C) S5 - PRISMA search and screening protocol, with the PRISMA 2020 checklist S6 - Binarization rules for the certification-engagement coding S7 - Expert validation panel responses, with field definitions and provenance Survey_Statistics_Ledger.xlsx - the de-identified survey dataset (Data sheet) and the statistics ledger recording every reported figure with its formula and denominator (Ledger sheet) OpenEnded_Coding.xlsx - thematic coding of the open-ended survey responses Survey data are de-identified and were collected under Khalifa University IRB protocol H25-032 (exempt determination, category 3, 5 May 2025; amendment approved 17 August 2026). No personal identifiers, IP addresses, or response timestamps are included. Together with the survey instrument, data dictionary, and qualitative codebook reproduced in the dissertation appendices, these files are sufficient to reproduce every figure and table in the survey results chapter.

Survey results: every figure reported in the dissertation appears in Survey_Statistics_Ledger.xlsx, which gives the count, the denominator, and the formula for each. The Data sheet holds the de-identified response matrix, one column per multi-select option. Open-ended results derive from OpenEnded_Coding.xlsx, reported against substantive-response denominators. Literature synthesis: the corpus was assembled per the protocol in S5, from an initial Scopus query of 165,195 records filtered to 122 peer-reviewed publications. Coding follows the binarization rules in S6. Counts and percentages recompute from S1 to S4. Expert review: S7 holds the six panel responses. Medians and interquartile ranges recompute from the four rated criteria.
