Daylighting and Visibility in University Libraries
Description
This dataset supports the study “Daylighting and Visibility in University Libraries”, conducted at the Main Library of the American University in Cairo (AUC). It contains architectural drawings, simulation inputs, and analytical outputs that examine the relationship between natural lighting and spatial configuration in academic library environments. Daylighting data include illuminance levels, daylight factor, daylight glare probability, useful daylight illuminance (UDI), spatial daylight autonomy (sDA), and annual sunlight exposure (ASE), generated using Revit 2025 and Climate Studio. Visibility data include visual integration, connectivity, isovist area, visual control, and through vision, produced with DepthMapX analysis. The dataset enables replication and further analysis of the correlation between spatial configuration and daylight performance, with relevance for architectural design, environmental psychology, and sustainable learning environments.
