Description

We propose that the radial pattern of the dikes that intersect the interference-patterned fold on the eastern margin of the Lut block is the consequence of the oroclinal buckling of the initial fold and the originally parallel dikes during the second folding event. According to the data, there is a correlation between the decline in the azimuth of the dikes and the bedding strikes in the same location on the eastern margin of the Lut block. The regression dependency is 0.8147, which indicates that oroclinal buckling of the eastern margin of the Lut block is the reason behind the radial pattern of the dikes correlation. It also suggests that the second phase of folding (orocline) occurred after the dikes' intrusion. The data of the bedding strike and dike azimuth is collected on the field by magnetic compass and later calculations. This method is similar to the strike test (orocline-test) of Pastor-Galan et al., (2017).
