Description

This dataset is a compilation of foreign tourist arrivals (FTA) and foreign exchange earnings (FEEs) from tourism for each year between 2001 and 2021. The primary source of data is 'India tourism statistics' annually published by the Market Research Division, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, New Delhi. The data on FTA has been derived from Table 2.1.1 Inbound Tourism: Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs), of each annual year. The data on FEE has been derived from Table 2.11. FEE from Tourism (US$ Billion) in India, of the respective annual report of the tourism ministry. The data is available in the public domain on the website of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. And the tourism ministry is the owner of this data; therefore, it must be acknowledged whenever the data has been reproduced. For the convenience of users, the Excel (.xlsx) and Stata (.dta) files have been uploaded. All these reports/tourism data statistics can be accessed at: https://tourism.gov.in/market-research-and-statistics
