This dataset is derived from the paper "Woody plant encroachment of grassland and the reversibility of shrub dominance: Erosion, fire and feedback processes" to be published in Ecosphere (ECS21-0344). A majority of this dataset is the reanalysis of published papers relevant to the hydrological, geomorphic, and ecological processes affected by woody plant encroachment in the southwestern United States, particularly the Jornada and Sevilleta LTER sites in the Chihuahuan Desert.
