Description

Recent research on riverbed sediment has revealed a high abundance of bacteria harboured in it, which can be resuspended and cause a large outbreak. However, the detection and molecular characterisation of pathogenic parasitic protozoa such as Cryptosporidium spp. in freshwater sediment are scarce. Therefore, this current study deciphered the prevalence, occurrence, genetic characterisation and diversity of Cryptosporidium spp. in river water and its sediment. Here is the reference Gp60 sequences used as database against the raw results submitted at PRJEB38993 (ERP122458)
