Description

The results of field studies of multi-temporal fallow soils and their virgin analogues in the zones of the Central Russian forest-steppe zone (Borisovskiy, Prokhorovskiy districts of the Belgorod region) and steppe zone (Veydelevskiy district of the Belgorod region), as well as the subsequent use of analytical methods, made it possible to obtain a set of data that reflect the carbon sequestration functions of soils in the context changes in the regional climate system. Justification of soil standards and analysis of the history of the formation of long-term fallow lands in the study region were carried out earlier [Lisetskii et. al., 2023]. Reference dates for determining the age of deposits are the 1870s, 1910s, 1950. Series of agrogenic transformation of soils create an information basis for quantitative assessment of the rate of organic carbon deposition, taking into account soil-genetic and climatic potentials.
