Data collected in the Bugoma Central Forest Reserve, Uganda, with the permission of the Uganda Wildlife Authority, the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology, the National Forest Authority, and the Bugoma Primate Conservation Project. Our research on chimpanzee nesting behavior was non-invasive and based on artifacts left behind by the apes. We conducted all of our research in accordance with national and international laws regulating the protection of endangered species. All fieldwork took place under permission from Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda National Council for Science and Technology and with consent of local landowners and community members. This work has been developed within the project “A survey of Chimpanzee Material Culture in Eastern DR Congo” financed by the National Science Center, Poland on the basis of the Decision no.
