Description

This dataset supports the empirical paper titled "Corporate heritage sponsorship and consumer emotional response: The mediating roles of local attachment, cultural nostalgia and perceived brand warmth". It comes from a single‑factor two‑level between‑subjects scenario experiment investigating consumer responses to corporate heritage‑sponsorship announcements. Data Collection & Sample: Data were collected via Prolific online experiment among Spanish adult participants between 30 July 2026 and 10 August 2026. 421 valid responses were retained (211 in sponsorship condition, 210 in control condition) after removing incomplete, inattentive, fast‑completed and duplicate entries. Content & File Description: The repository contains the following file(s): heritage_sponsorship_experiment_data.xlsx: Cleaned anonymised survey dataset. It includes main constructs (local attachment, cultural nostalgia, perceived brand warmth, consumer emotional response, purchase intention, heritage involvement), manipulation‑check items and demographic variables. All measures use 7‑point Likert scales. Both item‑level responses and composite mean scores are provided. Ethical Considerations: Ethical approval was granted by the Research Ethics Committee of Universitat Politècnica de València (reference No. P04_29‑06‑2026, 29 July 2026). The study followed the Declaration of Helsinki with electronic informed consent from all participants. No personal identifiers or Prolific IDs are included. The dataset is available for public use and study replication.
