Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has had adverse effects in several areas, such as the global supply chain. This study aims to analyze the digital social media contribution to greater resilience in supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research followed a systematic literature review method to collect articles in seven databases to identify the digital social media contribution for the Supply Chain Resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study identified the leading digital social media contributions to supply chain resilience, such as the firm's competitive advantage, reliable customer communication platforms, and strategic tools to build tacit organizational knowledge with operational and strategic value. The study suggests a future research model on the digital social media applicability in the supply chain to future pandemics. The digital social media contributions identified in the research results may propose strategies to achieve greater resilience in the supply chain. Figure 1 shows the criteria used for the articles included in the systematic literature review, based on Moher's (2010) model that adopts preferred reporting elements for systematic reviews and meta-analyses called PRISMA. The Table 1 presents the results of the systematic literature review organized by keyword to provide a better understanding of how resource effectiveness has so far been adopted in the literature. The research was based on seven databases and they were defined broadly enough to avoid artificial limitations in the documents, but still exclude undesirable results: group 1 (G1): keywords were defined to select documents related to Supply Chain and COVID-19; group 2 (G2): keywords were defined to set records associated with Supply Chain and DSM; group 3 (G3): keywords were defined to select documents related to DSM and COVID-19; group 5 (G5): keywords were defined to set documents related to Social Supply Chain. The Table 2 shows the main social media benefits section provides the main digital social media (DSM) contributions to the supply chain in the COVID-19 pandemic. The Table 3 provides the main impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Supply Chain. It shows the articles selected in the review. The Table 4 presents the articles that address the supply chain resilience topic in the COVID-19 pandemic. The key articles along with the main DSM identified are summarized in Table 5.

Steps to reproduce

In agreement with Thomé et al. (2016), the study adopts the 8-steps methodology to conduct the systematic literature review: (i) research problem formulation; (ii) literature search; (iii) data collection; (iv) quality assessment; (v) data analysis and synthesis; (vi) interpretation; (vii) presentation of results and (viii) updating of the review. The study also based in Thome et al. (2012) that recommend the use of five stages in the second step of the systematic literature review, the literature search, namely: (i) selection of a database; (ii) identification of keywords; (iii) review of selected abstracts; (iv) application of inclusion and exclusion criteria and (v) Complete review of selected articles. The inclusion criteria for the articles were: original publications with abstracts available in English; published between 2019 and 2020; studies related to COVID-19, digital social media , and Supply Chain.
