Okra Image Dataset
Description
Okra is such an important, nutritious crop that combats malnutrition and promotes a greener way of producing agricultural produce. Therefore, in improving the quality, palatability, and culinary uses, the harvesting maturity is classified into mature, over-mature, and under-mature forms that are achieved through the non-invasive method. Okra has to be categorized into different maturity levels to identify the appropriate time for harvesting, maintain market standards, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve its culinary versatility. Accurate classification will allow farmers to get better prices, satisfy consumer expectations, and ensure effective agricultural practices. This dataset was compiled from images taken using a standard RGB camera. It shows okra samples at various maturity levels divided into three categories. Images were taken under controlled illumination, using a standard RGB camera. Okra samples represent specimens from several farms, as well as from vegetable dealers, and can be varied with respect to their appearance in view of different maturity stages. Thus, this dataset will include variability that is inherently part of real-life farming and market environments. These are some of the most important datasets in the non-invasive assessment and classification of okra maturity for quality enhancement in agriculture and market readiness.
