Description

This dataset contains records of an experimental research project (BioE8-CEIC 1815) on the optimal locomotion speed (OLS), the minimum cost of transport (minCoT), and the energetic cost of walking in a sample of 74 urban children and adolescents of both sexes, aged 7-14 years. The dataset also contains some anthropometrical and body composition data of the subjects. Metabolic rates were also recorded during the different resting and walking tests, performed indoors, at the BioEnergy and Motion Lab (LabBioEM) of National Research Center on Human Evolution (CENIEH, Spain), in 2017 and 2018. The description of the recorded variables is included in the data and document files.
