Hypertensive nephropathy is the second most frequent cause of end-stage renal disease in western societies. In previous experiments in our laboratory with proteomic analysis of renal parenchyma of SHR hypertensive animals, we identified two molecules, namely SGLT2 and CLIC4, associated with the development of hypertension. Targeted proteomic analysis was performed using the method: "Parallel Reaction Monitoring" (PRM) in renal parenchyma of hypertensive and normotensive patients for the selective identification of SGLT2 and CLIC4 and the relative quantification of their expression. Raw files of the targeted proteomics analysis of SGLT2 and CLIC4 in human kidney biopsies from hypertensive patients and normotensive controls are deposited in this dataset. Renal tissue biopsies (N = 13) from archival material of patients with hypertensive nephropathy (N=5, designated as HT) and normotensive controls (N=8, designated as C) were used. Our data show changes in the tubular compartment of the kidney and especially in the proximal tubules associated with the hypertensive nephropathy. Proteomics data of SGLT2 was also confirmed by immunofluorescence (raw files from the immunofluorescence validation are deposited in this dataset). The clinical significance of these findings should be further explored for the discovery and/or confirmation of novel therapeutic approaches and biomarkers in the development of hypertensive kidney disease. Files: PRM_13319_1C.raw, PRM_13320_2C.raw, PRM_13321_3C.raw, PRM_13322_4C.raw, PRM_13323_5C.raw, PRM_13324_6C.raw, PRM_13325_7C.raw, PRM_13326_8C.raw, correspond to the raw PRM files of the normotensive patients whereas files: PRM_13327_1HT.raw, PRM_13328_2HT.raw, PRM_13329_3HT.raw, PRM_13330_4HT.raw, PRM_13331_5HT.raw, correspond to the raw PRM files of the hypertensive patients. In addition, files: sglt2 hyper pt1 f_ProjMax001, sglt2 hyper pt2 e_ProjMax001, sglt2 hyper pt3 c_ProjMax001, sglt2 hyper pt8 b_ProjMax001, correspond to the raw files of the immunofluorescence images of the hypertensive patients and files: sglt2 norm pt1_g_ProjMax001, sglt2 norm pt3 a_ProjMax001, sglt2 norm pt4 b_ProjMax001, sglt2 norm pt5_a_ProjMax001, correspond to the raw files of the immunofluorescence images of the normotensive patients.
