Perceived impact of remote simultaneous interpreting on auditory health public data set

Description

These data were collected spontaneously via an online survey by a member of the community of interpreters working for an international institution. The goal of the survey was to collect quantitative data concerning the perceived effects of Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI) on auditory health. The survey targeted interpreters who performed RSI of speakers using equipment set up in home office settings during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns (April-July 2020 and September-December 2020). Anonymized links were sent out to the participants via email. The identities of the participants are fully anonymous. No identifying information of the respondents were available to any of the persons involved in the collection or in the analysis of the data. In the email, the participants were clearly informed that their anonymity was guaranteed when participating to the survey. The data were collected from 7.12.2020 until 5.2.2021. The questions were coded into categorical (nominal) or ranked (ordinal) variables. Tick-box multiple-choice questions were coded into individual binary variables.
