Description

The proposed computational application uses open data about Mexican rural location in which optic fibre must be deployed. First, download a driving distance graph from open street maps given two geographic coordinates. Then the application computes the shortest distance among all the rural communities to build the network topology (spanning tree). A novelty is that the application prioritises the rural communities to linked to the optic fibre network. The decision-maker defines the sorting criteria: i) link the most populated community, ii) link the nearest community, or iii) link the community that increases the ratio of covered people to kilometres of optic fibre. The application generated the resulting maps.
