The data presented in two different format contains the ratings by electricity workers of problems associated with electricity generation in Nigeria. The problems with electricity generation in Nigeria is multifaceted and affecting the various sectors of the economy. The data captures firsthand how the problems are viewed by professionals in the industry. The data was collected from willing electricity workers from various power plants across Nigeria by means of a well-structured questionnaire. Well-trained interviewers were used to collect the information from willing electricity workers at their convenient time. The workers are anonymous as the names of their plants, personal names and any other information traceable to any individual or a company were not collected. The questionnaires were administered at random to willing workers during their break periods with the consent of the management of each plant and respondents were informed the data would be used for research purposes only. The electricity workers rated the listed problems on a scale of 1 to 10 inclusive depending on the severity of the observed problem. The data is presented in both Microsoft Excel and SPSS formats. The variable names, types, label names and other descriptive parameters can be accessed in the SPSS variable of the data. The files contain 152 records each. The Excel file contains a header row corresponding to the field names in the SPSS file.
