Data set on the youth population attitude towards adoption intention of Voluntary Simplicity Values
The dataset presents a causal approach to measure VS adoption intention through guilt, argument quality and source credibility manipulation. The data was collected from 332 students across four private universities from high and low QS rankings (2020) in Malaysia. The questionnaire was distributed via google forms assessing four Voluntary Simplicity Values (20 items for both pre and post value score), Guilt ( 8 items; 2 for each value), Argument Quality (8 items; 2 each value) and source credibility (8 items, 2 each value). The PLS-Sem analysis was used for analysis which revealed direct effect of guilt and mediating effects of Argument quality and source credibility on post inducement VS value dimensions. The data set will be useful in further analysis of ANCOVA based group differences and assist in gauging the VS value adoption and its relative causes across the Malaysian youth population.
Steps to reproduce
The data was collected utilizing google forms. It was distributed online across designed science and arts programmes in multiple universities. Multi- stage cluster sampling technique was utilized for selecting respondents.
