Description

Screening tools play a vital role in sensory processing disorder detection. The automatic collection of features related to behavioral parameters and the response to given stimuli is possible with the recent technology. Real time stress related health parameters are collected as response to visual stimuli created with experts’ suggestions based on visual sensory processing related questionnaire. Body temperature and heart rate are obtained by smart watch. Probability distribution for seven facial expressions (Angry, Disgust, Fear, Happy, Neutral, Sad, Surprise) is retrieved from video captured during portrayed stimuli. Reduced questionnaire is filled by care takers or parents based on the observations. This data will help behavioral therapist to reduce time, efforts and number of screening sessions required for visual sensory processing disorder detection and tracking effectiveness of therapy.

Steps to reproduce

Reduced set of questionnaires with rating (1: much less, 5: much more) for two questions is taken from family member/ parent/ care taker of the person. The visual stimuli designed by an expert is portrayed to the person and the stress related parameters (body temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, heart rate in bpm) are captured during this session using health sensors in smart watch. Facial expressions are also captured with the help of camera during the session and probability mass function for emotions is stored in the dataset.
