Models, topographic profiles, and data for 'Geometric forward modeling of thrust systems underlying shortening landforms on Mercury.'
Description
This zip file contains within it the 55 geometric forward models of the underlying structure of thrust fault related landforms across Mercury's surface and all of their relevant data as described in the manuscript 'Geometric forward modeling of thrust systems underlying shortening landforms on Mercury.' This dataset contains a .csv file with the final compilation of the parameters collected across all of the geometric models created by the MOVE software from Petroleum Experts. This dataset also contains a folder directory labeled 'Fault Models' which contain folders to all of the models created with the MOVE software. Each subsequent folder titled 'Fault #' contains the .move model file, the required .movd relevant model data, and the .csv file of the topographic profile used to construct the respective model. Each Fault number (#) corresponds to the same fault number in the fault map shapefile and data table in our dataset with measurements of morphologic parameters of thrust fault-related landforms. This previous dataset was published as Loveless et al., 2024 ‘Code and Data for 'A statistical evaluation of the morphological variability of shortening landforms on Mercury.', Revised’ (doi: 10.17632/8968vkgpds.2; https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/8968vkgpds/2) and is discussed and analyzed in Loveless, et al. (2024). A statistical evaluation of the morphological variability of shortening landforms on Mercury. Icarus 416, 116106. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.icarus.2024.116106.

Steps to reproduce
To open a model go through the folder director and click on the 'Fault #.move' file. This will open up to the final displaced geometric model in the MOVE software by Petroleum Experts. Note: the MOVE software is needed to see the actual models. Once a model is opened, other sections can be viewed to observe different steps in the modeling effort for each respective shortening landform that has been modeled.
