Description

This is the dataset for the research article "A Precision Agriculture Solution for Water Stress Estimation in Hass Avocado Farms in Colombia". Here, a year-long weather dataset for a water stress estimation solution is presented. The data corresponds to the test period of four devices installed at an operating Hass avocado farm and includes measurements for 5 variables: air temperature, relative humidity, rain, sunshine duration and wind speed. The data has been aggregating daily as follows: daily average, maximum and minimum for air temperature and relative humidity, daily accumulated rainfall, daily sunshine duration and daily average wind speed. This dataset was created to validate if the proposed device could be used by small and medium-sized farms for water stress event detection. In addition, since it is related to water usage and weather monitoring, it has also been used to assess the device's ability to solve these issues. This dataset has also been made freely available for further research, as there are many potential applications that could improve the agricultural practices for small and medium-sized farms.
