This dataset includes six files containing data for our article (“Urban residential energy switching in China between 1980–2014 prevents 2.2 million premature deaths”) from 1980 to 2014 at five year intervals (four years for 2010-2014) : 1. UR (urban residential) energy consumption, 2. UR emissions of major air pollutants including PM10, PM2.5, BC, OC, CO, SO2, NH3, and NOx, 3-4. Contributions of UR energy use to ambient and indoor PM2.5 concentrations in urban China, 5. Contributions of UR energy use to exposure of urban population to PM2.5 in China, 6. Contributions of UR energy use to PM2.5-associated premature deaths in urban China.
