Description

This dataset accompanies two papers "On the aliasing of the solar cycle in the lower-stratospheric tropical temperature" and "Chemistry-climate model simulations of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption using CCMI and CMIP6 stratospheric aerosol data sets". It contains zonally and monthly averaged temperature and ozone mixing ratio time series for particular ensemble members of these simulations: REF-C1-q over the period 1961-2009, REF-C1-q-clim over the period 1961-2009 and CMIP6 REF-C1 over periods 1986-2005 (to cover Mt. Pinatubo eruption) and 1960-1965 (to cover Mt. Agung Eruption). Three REF-C1 ensemble members covering period 1960-2009 can be accessed through the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA) via this link: http://catalogue.ceda.ac.uk/uuid/9cc6b94df0f4469d8066d69b5df879d5. Two additional REF-C1 ensemble members (denoted as CCMI REF-C1) covering the period 1986-2005 are included here.

Steps to reproduce

Follow SOCOLv3 chemistry-climate model description section in these two papers "On the aliasing of the solar cycle in the lower-stratospheric tropical temperature" and "Chemistry-climate model simulations of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption using CCMI and CMIP6 stratospheric aerosol data sets". All files were saved into Netcdf format. The whole postprocessing history is included in each file.
