Description

This data come from the ‘China Household Finance Survey’ (CHFS) project database from the China Household Finance Survey and Research Center at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Since 2011, the project has conducted five surveys, updating the data every two years, which offers comprehensive information on household demographics, employment, assets and liabilities, income and consumption, social security, etc. The latest survey in 2019, which covers 29 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government in China, comprises 34,643 households surveyed across 1,360 village (residential) committees. We have done a data cleansing, and obtain a final research sample of 11,424 rural households. Rural households residing in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern China account for approximately 29.95%, 27.15%, 33.74%, and 9.16% of the total sample.
