Description

his dataset contains the data and STATA codes used in the study entitled "Financial Development and CO2 Emissions in Asian Economies". The dataset is compiled from publicly available sources, including the World Bank and the Global Innovation Index (GII). It covers a panel of Asian countries over the period 2000–2023. The dataset includes variables such as CO2 emissions, financial development (FD), global innovation index (GII), trade openness (TOP), foreign direct investment (FDI), urbanization (UBA), and inflation (INF). The STATA do-files provided in this repository allow full replication of the empirical results, including data processing, variable construction, and estimation using the System Generalized Method of Moments (System-GMM). This repository is provided to enhance transparency and ensure the reproducibility of the empirical findings.

Steps to reproduce

Open the dataset file (dataset.dta) using STATA (version 16 or higher). Run the provided do-file (Code For Reviewer.docx). The code will automatically perform data processing, variable construction, and estimation using the System-GMM approach. All main regression results reported in the manuscript can be replicated using this procedure.
