Special Courses in Higher Education System of Russian Intelligence
Description
This database consists of data extracted from sources analyzed within the scope of the authors' research project titled "Russian School of Intelligence Theory". The dataset contains data related to the research subject, specifically concerning the courses taught at the KGB Higher School and the Andropov Institute (including course names, contents, and related details). The data were compiled by manually scanning and identifying references to these courses or information related to them within the main texts and footnotes of the primary sources listed below. Publications or data not directly relevant to the research topic were excluded. Each entry in the dataset includes descriptive fields such as course information (course name, etc.), the relevant institution, and year. Primary Data Sources: Issues 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28-29, 30, 31, 36, 37-38, 39, 41-42, 43, 44, 45 of the journal "Труды Высшей Школы" (Trudy Vysshey Shkoly), publicly available in the Lithuanian Special Archives (Lietuvos ypatingasis archyvas). Training materials publicly available in the Lithuanian Special Archives: “Английская Разведка” (British Intelligence), “Разведка Федеративной Республики Германии” (Intelligence of the Federal Republic of Germany), “Разведка США” (US Intelligence), “Литовские, латышские и эстонские буржуазные националисты” (Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian Bourgeois Nationalists), “Беларусские буржуазные националисты” (Belarusian Bourgeois Nationalists), and “Украинские буржуазные националисты” (Ukrainian Bourgeois Nationalists). 29 lecture materials published by the "For Free Russia Foundation".

Steps to reproduce
The dataset was created through the manual examination of the primary sources listed in the "Description" section. The data collection process involved the following steps: The main texts and footnotes/bibliographies of each of the listed primary sources (journal issues, training materials) were reviewed. Data referenced or mentioned within these sources (in this case, data related to courses taught at the KGB Higher School and Andropov Institute) were identified. Each identified data entry was assessed for its relevance to the scope of the research project (Russian intelligence theory and science). Data not directly relevant to the topic were filtered out. Relevant entries were recorded in the dataset. To reproduce or verify the dataset, researchers would need to access the sources specified in the "Description" section and apply the same manual scanning and filtering process to identify citations and data within them.
