Immune cells in ocular allergy during active and asymptomatic phase
Description
The datasheet, contains dendritic cell density at 5 locations of the eye, corneal centre, inferior whorl, corneal periphery, corneal limbus, and bulbar conjunctiva. dendritic cell morphology also at the mentioned locations assessed for the cell body size, presence of dendrites, presence of long dendrites, and presence of thick dendrites. All measurements were undertaken using in vivo confocal microscopy. Data are for a group of participants during the active and asymptomatic phase of allergy and also a non-allergic group for further comparison. The ocular allergy signs and symptoms were also measured by the Aston University Allergy Questionnaire and signs assessed by the slit lamp. Differences between active and asymptomatic phases were assessed for the measured variables. Also, further assessment between the asymptomatic phase and a non-allergic group was performed.

To measure dendritic cell density and morphology, in vivo confocal microscopy was used. An allergy questionnaire and slit lamp were used to assess the ocular surface signs and symptoms.
