Orthographic-semantic consistency effects in lexical decision: What type of neighbors is responsible for the effects?
Description
Data reported in "Orthographic-Semantic Consistency Effects in Lexical Decision: What type of Neighbors is Responsible for the Effects?" authored by Yasushi Hino, Debra Jared and Steve Lupker. In Data Analyses 1,2 and 3, lexical decision latency and accuracy data from English Lexicon Project (Balota, Yap, Cortese, Hutchison, Kessler, Loftus, Neely, Nelson, Simpson & Treiman, 2007) are used and analyzed to examine whether orthographic-semantic consistency effect is observed on lexical decision data. In Experiment, on the other hand, behavioral data are collected in online lexical decision experiment to examine whether the orthographic-semantic consistency effect is observed when the consistency is manipulated based on either addition neighbors or substitution neighbors.

Steps to reproduce
Please read "README.pdf" first. It describes the steps to reproduce the results of Data Analyses 1, 2, 3 and Experiment, separately. The files needed to reproduce the results of Data Analysis 1 are located in "DA1" directory. Similarly, files needed to reproduce the results of Data Analyses 2 and 3 are located in "DA2", "DA3", respectively. Word stimuli used in Experiment are listed in "items.xlsx" in "EXP/items" directory. Files needed to reproduce the results of Experiment are located in "EXP" directory. In addition, files needed to reproduce the results listed in Table 9 are located in "TABLE9" directory. In case if you have any questions about these files and procedures, feel free to send e-mail to hino@waseda.jp. Yasushi Hino
