Theoretical Instance for SCD Model
Description
The first and most restrictive setting has two suppliers per part and the total integration for each supplier is limited between 1 and 5. As such, each supplier can source at least one low risk part, and at most five low risk parts, but could also, for example, source a high risk part and a medium risk part. For ensuing artificial instances, the number of suppliers per part was increased in steps of three, and both limits of the risk interval were also increased by three. This would mean a total of sixteen different possible instance settings. For each combination, individual suppliers are assigned a random number to be their total integration risk. To account for the variance of this step, for each setting, five different instances are generated. Figure \ref{fig:feasibleinstances} outlines the parameters for each artificial instance, and the labels used for the results in this Section. For similar reasons to the ones outlined in the previous paragraph, some permutations of these parameters do not yield feasible instances.
