Description

The present data refers to the synthesis and analysis of the thermal degradation of materials from renewable sources. Polyols were obtained by induced air oxidation. Subsequently, polyurethanes and hybrids were obtained using aminosilanes. Through these data, we show that the thermooxidative degradation of this type of materials occurs through reactions of multiple autocatalytic stages. FTIR data of the polyurethane-urea materials: The evolution of polymerization reactions and the chemical groups formed in the films were monitored by FTIR in a Perkin-Elmer Spectrum 400 spectrometer using attenuated total reflection (ATR, diamond crystal at 45o) mode. The spectra were obtained over the 4,000 to 500 cm−1 region employing 62 scans with a resolution of 4 cm−1. TG curves for polyurethane-urea materials: Experiments was performed in a TA instruments Q50 thermogravimetric analyzer at the constant heating rates of 5, 10, 20 and 30 ºC.min-1 in the temperature range 30–800 ºC under a steady air flow of 50 mL.min-1. The mass of all samples was ~ 10 mg.
