Description

These are tag-recapture/encounter-history data from the ongoing investigation "Quantitative assessment of the two-decade time series of demographic and mark-recapture data for the key populations of a “threatened” bull trout metapopulation in the St. Mary River drainage, Montana, USA." The bull trout age data are those used in both Mogen, J.T. & Kaeding, L.R. (2005a). Identification and characterization of migratory and non-migratory bull trout populations in tributaries of the St. Mary River, Montana. Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 134, 841–852. and Kaeding, L.R., and J.T. Mogen. 2020. Quantification and characterization of bull trout annually entrained in the major irrigation canal on the St. Mary River, Montana, United States, and identification of operations changes that would reduce that loss. River Research and Applications 36:1366–1372. The SM Fish Data 1997-2019 Excel file provides all the fish data for the above studies. The data fields should be self-evident and include method, year, location, TL (mm), weight (g), and PIT tag number.
