Description

The data in this file relate to the determination of the convective heat transfer coefficient using a thermal manikin representing a three-month-old infant. Based on this new coefficient, the error resulting from the use of the coefficient determined by Fanger for heat exchange (R, C, and E) is demonstrated.

Steps to reproduce

Our thermal manikin was placed in a horizontal position within an air-conditioned chamber, suspended by wires to eliminate conductive heat exchange. The manikin was subjected to various air temperatures within the enclosure to establish the relationship between the injected electrical power (representing heat exchange) and the temperature difference between the manikin's skin and the air.
