Description
This dataset comprises a systematic review of 272 peer-reviewed articles examining the intersection of climate change and geopolitical tensions. The dataset includes bibliographic information, methodological approaches, geographic focus, climate hazards, geopolitical tensions, affected populations, mediating factors, and proposed solutions for each record. Data were extracted from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar following PRISMA guidelines. The dataset is organized into two sheets: a coding framework (controlled vocabulary) and the full extracted data. It is suitable for systematic reviews, bibliometric analysis, and policy-oriented research on climate security.

Steps to reproduce
This dataset was generated through a systematic literature review following PRISMA guidelines to ensure reproducibility. A comprehensive search was conducted across Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar using a Boolean search string combining climate-related terms (e.g., "climate change," "global warming," "extreme weather") with geopolitical and security keywords (e.g., "geopolitics," "conflict," "resource competition," "territorial disputes") for publications published between 1992 and 2024. After removing duplicates, two independent reviewers screened titles and abstracts against predefined inclusion criteria (peer-reviewed English-language articles, reviews, editorials, and book chapters explicitly addressing the climate-geopolitics nexus), followed by full-text assessment of 420 records, resulting in 272 included studies. Data extraction was performed manually using a standardized form capturing bibliographic information, geographic focus, methodological approaches, climate hazards, geopolitical tensions, affected populations, mediating factors, and proposed solutions. To ensure consistency, a controlled coding framework (provided in the "Codes" sheet) was developed through a deductive-inductive process, and inter-coder reliability was assessed on a 20% random sample (Cohen's κ > 0.80). All screening and extraction were managed using Zotero for reference management and Microsoft Excel for data coding and storage, with disagreements resolved through consensus among reviewers.
